Dr. Bruce Oldham
DR. BRUCE OLDHAM has served as Lead Pastor at Winter Haven First Nazarene since May 12, 2019. Pastor Oldham came to us from Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary in Manila, Philippines, where he served as President and Professor of Christian Education. Prior to election at APNTS, he was on pastoral staff of churches in Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama for 13 years, worked in administrative and teaching positions at Nazarene universities in Ohio, Tennessee, and Kansas for 21 years, and in the Nazarene Youth International office for four years. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Religion from Trevecca Nazarene University and doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Vanderbilt University. His wife Dr. Peggy (Jenkins) Oldham holds a doctorate in Education Leadership from Spalding University, master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from Tennessee State University, and bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Trevecca. She was on faculty at two Nazarene universities and held positions in student development, student success, and alumni/church relations at two other schools. The Oldhams have two adult children and three grandchildren.
Rev. Bill Vinson
Associate Pastor for Missional Outreach
PASTOR BILL VINSON was born in Honolulu, Hawaii into an unchurched military family. His junior high and high school years were spent in Logan, West Virginia where he calls home. He was introduced to Christ and the Church of the Nazarene at age 16 by his best friend in school. Shortly after that, he answered the call from God to full-time Christian ministry. This call has included 25 years of full-time pastoral ministry in North and South Carolina, 11 years as assistant to the district superintendent in Central Ohio, and now an associate pastoral role here in Winter Haven focusing on missional outreach and discipleship.
Pastor Bill is a graduate of Mt. Vernon Nazarene College (now University), Nazarene Theological Seminary, and Duke University School of Nonprofit Management. He is married to his best friend and ministry partner, Jan, a northwest Ohio native. They have three adult children: Eric (Nashville, Tennessee), Drew & wife Laura, grandson Joel and a baby brother on the way (Nampa, Idaho), and Molly Ranson & husband Carter (Nashville, Tennessee).
Foreign travel and mission opportunities have allowed Bill to pack his bags for over 50 Work & Witness mission trips. He is also passionate about sports, photography and spending time doing anything with his family.
Pastor Bill’s life verse is “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 2:5)
Pastor Scott Oldham
Pastor to Youth and Young Adults
Scott Oldham is Pastor to Youth and Young Adults, arrived in Winter Haven on August 12, 2019 with his wife Kristen and their three children. Scott earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee in theology and youth ministry, and was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene in 2015. He has served previously in ministry leadership assignments at Trevecca, at Twin Lakes Church in Santa Cruz, California, at Victory Church of the Nazarene in St. Petersburg, Florida, at First Church of the Nazarene at Nashville, Tennessee, and at Owego Nazarene Church in Owego, New York.
Rev. Tom Whitesides
HIS Mission Pastor
TOM WHITESIDES is the Pastor of HIS Mission Outreach Ministry. This is an exciting, rewarding and challenging ministry to those less fortunate. Pastor Tom has been involved in this outreach ministry since 1996 and became HIS Mission Pastor in 2000. God is accomplishing wonderful things through this ministry and in the lives of HIS people. The theme of this ministry is HIS Mission - OUR Mission.
Pastor Tom is happily married to his beautiful high school sweetheart, Kathy. The Whitesides have two sons, Jason and Jonathan. Tom considers it a privilege and joy to share Christ and make disciples in Christ’s Church
Rev. Nancy Hale
Pastor to Families With Children
Rev. Nancy Hale is the Pastor to Families with Children. She officially assumes the position on January 17. Her husband is, Tony, and they have 4 children
Raised in a parsonage, Nancy has 15 years of experience with children's ministry in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and in Florida at Brandon, Avon Park, and Sebring.
"God instituted the family even before the church," Nancy says, "and I am passionate about aiding and discipling those who are influencing the next generation. I am excited and privileged to share the great love of Christ with the children and families of Winter Haven First, inspiring them to seek His face."
